Jayla is our baby girl. She often seems more like a big dog than a horse, until she shows some of that Arabian spirit! She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She just wants lots of attention and food! We love her. She was adopted from Habitat for Horses. Jayla will never grow to be very big--she was deprived of too much nutrition in the womb and during her first few months of life. HFH rescued her when she was three months old. She and her mother were in a pasture with twelve stallions. They were both severly emaciated. Jayla's mother died the day they were rescued. The vet told me she felt that the mother held on just long enough to know her baby was safe. Now I feel it's our responsiblity to that mother to keep her baby happy and healthy.
